House above the Lake by NOIZ architekti

Perched on the highest point in Lozorno, this weekend house is designed for discretion and panoramic views of the reservoir. The architecture is defined by two contrasting, orthogonal volumes: a tall, archetypal gabled form for daytime living and a low-lying wing for sleeping quarters. By embedding half the structure’s mass into the terrain, the design minimizes its visual impact while harmonizing with the topography. This strategic layout, supported by retaining walls, ensures privacy from neighbors while orienting every room toward specific vistas. The result is a private sanctuary that balances intimacy with an expansive connection to the landscape.
