The reactivation of the former Jirásek military barracks involves a comprehensive expansion of the public space in Vysoké Mýto. Spanning over 3.5 hectares, the proposal focuses on the active zone adjacent to the historical Dragoun barracks. Utilizing a series of diagonal paths, the site is compartmentalized into designated areas for sports, leisure, and recreation. A primary east-west pedestrian route, known as the promenade, interconnects key public spaces, flanked by tree-lined avenues. The Kiosk, strategically positioned along the promenade, functions as a central hub, providing amenities such as refreshments, toilets, and storage. The active zone features a tiered layout with a sunken multi-purpose playground, accommodating various daily activities. Landscaping efforts, including the planting of 87 new trees, contribute to a dynamic and adaptable public space, enhancing overall usability and appeal. The vegetation strategy aligns with communication routes and residential zones, incorporating existing trees as foundational elements for future greenery.
