Summer Pavilion by Papundekl architects

PAPUNDEKL architects have crafted a modular pavilion at the Prague Exhibition Grounds, signaling the area’s renewed accessibility to the public. The pavilion boasts a versatile facade of translucent fiberglass panels, adaptable to varying uses and changing weather or lighting conditions. Situated at the juncture of the Exhibition Grounds and Stromovka park, the pavilion serves as a transformative beacon. Its amber-colored, adjustable facade contrasts with surrounding structures, providing an inviting or luminous presence as needed. Primarily offering refreshments, the pavilion features a craft beer tap-room facing the park and a bistro overlooking the Exhibition Grounds. The modular construction, elevated on concrete footings, minimizes disruption to the terrain and tree roots. The design extends the large pedestrian alley in Stromovka park, embodying a minimal yet effective intervention in the surroundings.
