Kozina House by Atelier 111 Architekti

Nestled in the historic quarter of a quaint South Bohemian town, our new home embraces a neglected yet atmospherically rich locale. Positioned near Kozina Square, it provides tranquility amidst narrow streets, while a few steps lead to the vibrant town center. This reconstructed house, an alternative to sprawling suburban villas, efficiently utilizes a smaller space. Featuring a spacious living room with an adjoining terrace, an attic for children’s rooms, a bedroom with a private bathroom, a garden with fruit trees, two garage spaces, and a sizable workshop with a car lift. Merging two neighboring houses, we preserve historical elements, discarding unsuitable modern additions, and uncovering original stone masonry. The respectful restoration maintains the building’s original shape, scale, and materiality, ensuring accessibility from both pedestrian and vehicular entrances.
