Jirčany Fire Station by SOA Architekti

The new firehouse in Dolní Jirčany blends function with sensitivity to its rural surroundings. Inspired by the form of traditional barns, its gabled roof and rectangular volume echo the nearby primary school while fitting into the residential context. Located at the village’s edge for optimal emergency access, the building sits on a triangular plot and bridges the scale between homes and public structures. A translucent polycarbonate façade shelters a wooden core, separating the garage from the interior spaces and visually connecting the building to its surroundings. Designed with clear thermal zones and robust material contrasts, the firehouse is both efficient and inviting, offering the public a glimpse into the life of local volunteer firefighters.
