Bunker B-S 10 by toito architekti

“Bunker B-S 10 “Tři hranice” is a 1930s military structure near Bratislava, originally part of Czechoslovakia’s border defenses. Built with input from France’s Maginot Line engineers, it never saw combat and was forgotten until 2017. Today, it offers a unique form of experiential lodging—simple, self-sufficient, and respectful of its history. Minimal interventions preserve its raw concrete character, while new elements like fixed beds, a kitchen island, and outdoor facilities enable overnight stays for up to 8 visitors. A small terrace and fire pit now face the original “enemy” line, turning a relic of war into a quiet retreat.”
