A House in a Nutshell by Papundekl architects

The plot for the new family house is situated in an area with relatively small parcels and diverse satellite development. Due to the limited land area and the desire for a sizable garden, the proposed house is designed as a two-story structure. Similar to neighboring houses, it is positioned in the northern part of the plot, allowing ample space for a south-oriented garden. The house comprises two sections. The main two-story part includes a living room with a kitchen on the ground floor and bedrooms with a bathroom on the upper floor. The single-story “annex,” housing smaller service areas, is located at the plot’s boundary, shaped by Prague’s regulations on setback distances. The ground floor, with subtly shaped openings, aims to strike a pleasant balance in opening the house to the surrounding garden.
